Android_Halwa Posted November 10, 2018 Report Posted November 10, 2018 If it’s public money, it’s a concern. its private funded money. It’s a commercial structure which charges you money to visit this monument. There is commerce involved and few hundred thousand depend on this structure, tourism etc. its is an investment, not spending. Quote

Android_Halwa Posted November 10, 2018 Report Posted November 10, 2018 A private company raised funds to built and operate the structure and tourist activities. Gujarat govt gave 200 crores and central government gave another 200 crores. The remaining 1100 crores were raised by L and T to built this structure. I have no idea where the figure of 3000 crores came up from. Quote

Not sure if it is true.. as per recent debates.. most of the money funded by gov companies (oil) .. isn’t it quid pro quo? Quote
Android_Halwa Posted November 10, 2018 Report Posted November 10, 2018 People still don’t understand the importance of infrastructure but onmy infrastructure investment can pull out millions out of poverty. It’s not IT that provides mass employment and livelihood but it’s infrastructure that helps in upliftment. People who think it’s waste, are the ones who nod their head to the media and least interested to know the facts. Quote

Gujarat Government allocated 200 crores and Union also alloyed 200 crores. I have no idea about this quid pro by guj oil companies but it’s built on PPP model. When it is PPP model, why would it bother to us even if the funds raised are quid pro ? It’s owned and operated by L and T. May be it is quid pro to L and T but what’s wrong with it ? I mean, I do not see any gross violation of law or ethics. For a company like l and T, 3000 crores is very very small thing, he can even write it off as devaluation of assets for one quarter and would still makes sense. Quote

Android_Halwa Posted November 10, 2018 Report Posted November 10, 2018 And it’s not quid pro Every MNC in India has to spend a percentage of their profit on social outreach. It’s their wish where they have to spend but o think the percentage is 2% of the profit. Eveey corporate in India has to file their 2% on CSR. Over the years, PSU’s like Indian oil, ONGC , LIC etc have accumulated thousands of crores of such dud which is lying under utilized . Such funds were also contributed to the funding. Even in the past, many such PSU’s have contributed to many such things and why is such a fuss being made about it ? ita quite normal...quite common..! even private companies like infotech, Infosys, wipro etc also have this fund and they spend on education, health, other facilities. Infotech spends this fund on few schools in and around madhapur areas... Quote

No. State owned companies money...its not govt money. This money is part of CSR fund of the companies. Oil companies have literally thousands of crores which only has to be spent on CSR activities but not on reducingfuel rates. This is a common practice.. Quote
