Android_Halwa Posted November 10, 2018 Report Posted November 10, 2018 India Today Fact Check team found that the claims, which said the PSUs bore the cost of Sardar Patel statue project, are partially true. The PSUs certainly did not spend to the tune Rs 2,500 crore as being claimed. Also, the claims about funds coming from China as loan are far from true. Quote

r2d2 Posted November 11, 2018 Report Posted November 11, 2018 So who Funded the Sardar Patel statue? Here is a list of (mostly) public sector companies that "voluntarily" paid for it out of their CSR funds .....Indian Oil Corporation - 900 crores .....ONGC - 500 crores .....Bharat Petroleum - 250 crores .....Oil India Corporation - 250 crores .....Gas Authority of India Limited - 250 crores .....Power Grid 125 crores .....Gujarat Minerals Development Corporation 100 crores .....Engineers India - 50 crores .....Petronet India - 50 crores .....Balmer Laurie - 50 crores Please note there is no Anil Ambani, Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, Baba Ramdev company funding this statue! Most of the funders are Oil sector PSUs......When India is literally crying for reduction in Oil prices.....This is how our Oil sector PSUs are made to splurge their money! No iota of shame left to build stupid statues from Corporate "Social Resonsibility" funding! In case, party was so interested....why not ask any of your cronies to do the honours? After all...whose money is this? India is not anyones personal fiefdom! This is our money.....taxpayer money! India.....how long will you be quiet! uttermost Posted November 11, 2018 Report Posted November 11, 2018 I never thought there would be a more ugly thing than that tiruvalluvar statue in Kanyakumari built in 2000 by TN govt. this Patel statue tops it. Its the ugliest, built for an ugly racist casteist man, who doesn't deserve most of the accolades he receives. Its like a monument to the man who killed a million muslims in Hyderabad. Quote

Did I glorify the Sardar Patel statue ? Did I glorify the heroic achievements of Patel ? I said the infrastructure. And stressed importance of infrastructure and if it was someone from a backward community or a muslim or anyone else for that matter of your interest would definitely justify but in view, It’s of commercial interest and nothing more than that... I added one zero more. I just read the paper by Canadian guy on this massacre, and he said 30-40k, not 300-400k as I read in wiki because I'm very close to falling asleep. Indian official report too, agreed to the Canaian guy's figure. The Canadian guy said that the number of muslims killed may be 10 times more than Indian official estimates, but that's mostly conjecture. A lot of people killed by the army was blamed on Razakars anta. even if the number is not 1 million, still patel is a murdering psycopath, who doesn't deserve even a 15cm doll. Quote

uttermost Posted November 11, 2018 Report Posted November 11, 2018 when talking about the statue, Patel's horrible legacy must be discussed. attempt to erase patel's name from the next generation's mindspace is very important. not sidestep the fact about mass murderer's like him, and discuss about how the 'project' was financed. it doesn't matter if it was 100% someone's vanity project, funded by that person alone. It still shouldn't exist. because man doesn't live in a vacuum. and society's choices today reflects on the kind of children it brings into it tomorrow. Patel statue is an insult to every decent fair minded individual. Quote
