Farmers

Looking for criticism, ideas, anything along with some donations. Opened a fund raiser but ketto is taking some time to open it before that I want to test water in our own forum.

 

I came from a Farming Back ground and I always wanted to create something on the lines of Farmers market meaning were a farmer can sell products to the consumers directly avoiding any middle man. We are planning on creating a user friendly app for the farmers were they can register themselves kind of like Facebook and can upload there own stories like the methods they follow to grow a crop the pesticides they use and everything about farming giving the customer complete details of what kind of food he is buying.

This way consumers or customers can buy there products from which ever farmer they want to based on there liking to the methods. 

This is a huge risk program however in this modern day world nothing is impossible , India is largely farm based economy but we do not have much help going for the farmers because of the middle man. We are planning on taking this as a challenge and try this small and expand eventually. 

Even if the initial stages are not for the customers to buy directly from farmers we want at least the farmers to have an opportunity to sell to some super markets directly avoiding the middle man. 

I am pretty sure we all have someone in our family or immediate family who lives on farming. We want the farmers of India to have the same opportunities as any other technical guys. 

This money we are requesting is to build up some ground work and go from there we are not sure if this will be successful or not but we can promise you that as a group educated Villagers we will try to give our best in creating this module. we have a close knit of people trying volunteer work but we want to hire people to get this going.

The time we have mentioned is 26th Nov but in reality we have time only till 16th as we have to present a case in front of an investor we got an appointment luckily who can take this big time across India.

I might have not put it out in great words but we are trying to create a social network site for farmers to sell there products to direct clients be it the stores or customers individually avoiding middle man.

Every other businessman decides the price of his product say a chocolate company has a fixed price a shoe company has a fixed price as per there wish but the essential thing of our lives and basic need is food and the farmers who work hard for 6 months for one crop has no right to decide the price so we want to change it.

What you are talking is not something new and many enthusiasts like you have been saying the same thing for the last 30-40 years, ever since the green revolution. 

to cut out middlemen, to market produce directly, etc but in reality, such a thing will never work.

and coming to the price of a produce needs to be decided by the market unfortunately in India, govenment decides the MSP and this is killing the free market and violating the basic economics. Pricing needs to happen on two main things, demand and supply no matter who gets to fix this thing but it should happen on demand and supply.

and third thing, i request you not to crowd fun money for this purpose as it is not going t be effective even in the short run.

The need of the hour is commerical farming, where business needs to involve with farmers. and farmers cannot be just farmer anymore but he needs to improvise.

Raw material needs to convert to finished good and farmer is a mere raw material supplier in present market which needs to change from just a supplied to open market to loop where it is inter dependent.
