They are not talking about stem. Other than stem, most courses have only 12 months opt. If you have worked on day1 CPT for more than a year then it is a problem.

Even on OPT, for STEM extension if i983 form is not properly filed on time and if there is a deviation on training plan, it amounts to status violation and can face ban.
