Ma parents local visa office(you know what I mean) ki vellaru, vaalle anta chesaru.... no drop box option annaru for visitors. paid  2000/- per person  and 30 days mundhu chesaru.

May 2018 or 2019 man? 

I think you cannot extend while your old visa is still in validity...what they have to do is to come back to India & then re apply...not everyone has drop box facility....I think you would know that after filing DS-160 whether to go for Interview or just drop box.
