Do you shred the papers?

One of my Friend, shred each and every paper/mail that has his name and address and any other information that pertains to him.

Example: I noticed him shredding even the Envelope of Junk mail. I asked him why, he says it has his name and address and someone might use that information it for illegal reasons. It sounded weird to me and didn't extend the conversation

Do you guyz shred the papers? do you think it's important? I always throw my papers no matter what in Recycle

Any address info, phone number, account info I shred. I even tear off receipts after I am done
