వనపర్తి, : వనపర్తి టీఆర్‌ఎస్ అభ్యర్థి సింగిరెడ్డి నిరంజన్‌రెడ్డి ఇంట్లో పోలీసులు సోదాలు నిర్వహించారు. నిరంజన్‌రెడ్డి ఇంట్లో లేని సమయంలో సుమారు అరగంట పాటు సాగిన సోదాల్లో డబ్బు, మద్యం, ఇతర తాయిళాల వంటివేమీ లభించలేదని పోలీసులు తెలిపారు. తనిఖీల చేపట్టిన సమయంలో నిరంజన్ రెడ్డి పెబ్బేరు మండలంలో ఆయన సతీమణి వాసంతి, కూతుళ్లు రేవల్లి మండలంలో ఎన్నికల ప్రచారంలో ఉన్నారు. వనపర్తి పట్టణంలోని వల్లభ్‌నగర్‌లో ఉన్న నిరంజన్ రెడ్డి స్వగృహంలో చేపట్టిన తనిఖీల సమయంలో నిరంజన్ రెడ్డి కుటుంబ సభ్యులెవరూ లేరు. ఇంట్లో పని మనిషి, కొందరు కార్యకర్తలు మాత్రమే ఉన్నారు. వనపర్తి ఎన్నికల సాధారణ పరిశీలకులు వీబీ పాటిల్ కు వచ్చిన ఫిర్యాదు మేరకు ఈ తనిఖీలు చేపట్టినట్లు పోలీసులు తెలిపారు. మధ్యాహ్నం 1:30 గంటలకు వచ్చిన పోలీసులు ఇంట్లో అణువణువూ గాలించారు. అయితే ఫిర్యాదు వచ్చినట్లుగా ఎలాంటి నగదు కానీ ఇతర వస్తువులేమీ లభించలేదని పోలీసులు తెలిపారు. ఓ ఎస్సై, నలుగురు పోలీసులు నిరంజన్ రెడ్డి ఇంటి తనిఖీల్లో పాల్గొన్నారు.

Income Tax officials carried out a raid on the house of TRS candidate from Kodangal constituency, Patnam Narender Reddy, at Mirjapur village of Kosgi mandal in Mahbubnagar district in the early hours of Wednesday. 

Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar confirmed to media persons receiving a report from IT authorities on the search carried out at the premises of Mr. Reddy but said it was sent to him in a sealed cover. He was yet to go into the report. 

It was said a huge cash was seized in the raid but there was no official word. 

Mr. Reddy, who is now an MLC, is brother of Transport Minister P. Mahender Reddy, and is locked in a keen contest at Kodangal with Congress working president A. Revanth Reddy. Both TRS and Congress are engaged in a high pitch campaign. The TRS is using its might to ensure the defeat of the Congress candidate as he is the most vocal critic of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Harish Rao’s vehicle checked

Peddapalli: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao was in for a surprise on Wednesday when Siddipet police stopped his vehicle and conducted a search. The police were carrying out vehicles checks to prevent supply of liquor and money in view of the Assembly elections in the State.

Harish Rao, who was returning to Siddipet from Husnabad after electioneering during the day, asked the police to check his vehicle near the District Collectorate as per the directives of the Election Commision. The police, after a thorough search, allowed him to proceed.

 

The Congress has been crying hoarse over opposition parties’ vehicles being targeted for checks, an allegation denied by the Director General of Police M Mahender Reddy, in his reply to the TS Chief Electoral Officer.
