Rs 7.5 crore seized as Hyderabad police bust hawala racket, four arrested

In a major catch, the Hyderabad police along with Task Force, flying squad and Static Surveillance team have seized Rs  7.51 crore from four hawala operators on Wednesday.

Rs 10 crore seized from car in poll-bound Telangana, case registered

The seizure was made during intensified checking of vehicles by authorities to implement the model code of conduct in the run up to the Assembly elections.

In a major haul, police in poll-bound Telangana on Friday seized Rs 10 crore cash from a car. The cash was seized during a checking of vehicles near Pipparwada toll plaza by the police in Adilabad district of Telangana, which is going to polls on December 7.

Several wads of currency notes, all in Rs 500s, were recovered from the vehicle which was coming from Nagpur in Maharashtra and headed to Hyderabad. The car was registered in Karnataka. Police detained two persons travelling in the car.

Authorities have also seized 1.57 lakh litre of liquor worth Rs 3.50 crore apart from gold and silver worth over Rs 1.30 crore from across the state.
