Driving licence renewal H1 b Pending

Guys,

I would need your inputs on my below situation.

My HB1 is expiring in the December 10 th and we have filed for H1B extension couple of 1 month ago but yet to get to a decision. My driving license also expiring on December 10th as per the H1B Visa date. I went to 3 DMV offices for licence renewal based on the H1B receipt number but none of them are accepting receipt number for renewal. My commute to office is 20 miles every day one way and dont have a public transport. mee anubhavam tho evaraina cheppandi expiry aina licence tho drive chestae consequences emi untayee cheppandi....penaly fees or traffic ticket aite parledu but antha kanna serious gaa emaina consider chestara like criminal offence or imprisonment..

Thanks Bro....premium process suspended kada bro till February.....have to wait...waiting  for experts opinion.....

Which state bro? 

Check your state DMV website if it has any details on DL renewals for H1B. My H1 extension is in progress and I got my DL renewed in NJ. Took 3 trips to NJ DMV to get DL renewed.

 

I got a letter from employer in this format https://www.state.nj.us/mvc/pdf/license/H1B_status_employer_letter.pdf and spoke to the supervisor at DMV office. Since I-94 is expired, they raised a SAVE case with USCIS taking a copy of H1 receipt, passport and latest I-94. SAVE case processing will take around 3 weeks and USCIS will update DMV with your legal status saying DL can be approved for 240 days.

Oh ok. Then inka public transportation aey gathi. Nenu oka 15 days without license drive chesa in march. Was in same situation.

I am from NJ as well...went dmv at Wayne,lodhi,springville...spoke to all supervisors...they are very adamant about I-94 date and not accepting receipt number inspite of so many requests

I got DL renewed 10days ago at  North Bergen DMV (8901 Park Plaza, North Bergen, NJ 07047). First go to the 6 point id check counter, since your I-94 is expired they will ask you to check with supervisor. Supervisor said cannot renew on receipt, then I showed her the DMV website rule and she told the person at the counter to raise SAVE case and from there it took 2 more visits.

• "If you are in H-1B or L-1 status and do not have current USCIS documentation, you must bring a certification like this H-1B or L-1 240 Day Extension Certificate with your 6 Point ID documents to an MVC agency". 

 

Also, aa North Bergen DMV office lo 2 desi gallu work chestaru, go to either of the for 6 point check.
