Some companies also came because of the hype. Lekapothe moththam industry would have been in Chennai, Bangalore and Pune. 

People were also enthusiastic to be in IT during that time. I remember many uncles trying to learn Lotus, COBOL during those days..Hyderabad was big enough to have infrastructure, but small enough to not be costly. There were many factors, one of them is CBN.
