• దానికి కెన్నాంగా అని పేరు పెట్టిన ప్రపంచ వాతావరణ శాఖ
• ఆస్ట్రేలియాకు సమీపంలో వాయుగుండం
• దాని కారణంగా బలహీనపడిన పెథాయ్

తీరానికి దగ్గరగా వస్తున్న పెథాయ్ తుపాను, బలపడాల్సింది పోయి, మరింతగా బలహీనపడి ముప్పును తప్పించింది. హిందూ మహాసముద్రంలో ఆస్ట్రేలియాకు సమీపంలో ఏర్పడిన అల్పపీడనం, వాయుగుండంగా మారడమే ఇందుకు కారణమని వాతావరణ శాఖ అధికారులు విశ్లేషించారు. దీనికి 'కెన్నాంగా అని పేరు పెట్టారని, ఇది మరో రెండు మూడు రోజుల్లో ఆస్ట్రేలియా తీరాన్ని తాకుతుందని వెల్లడించారు.

దీని ప్రభావంతో పెథాయ్ బలహీనపడిందని, తీరాన్ని దాటిన తరువాత, తూర్పు కోస్తా వైపు తుపాను కదలడానికి కూడా ఇదే కారణమని తెలిపారు. పెథాయ్ ప్రభావంతో విజయనగరం, విశాఖపట్నం, శ్రీకాకుళం జిల్లాల్లోనూ విస్తారంగా వర్షాలు కురుస్తాయని తెలిపారు. తెలంగాణకు పెథాయ్ కారణంగా కురిసే వర్షాలు స్వల్పమేనని, కొన్ని ప్రాంతాల్లో తేలికపాటి జల్లుల నుంచి ఓ మోస్తరు వర్షాలు కురవవచ్చని అంచనా వేశారు.
