It's wifi mesh..ideal for mansions.

If you own huge house , then ok. I still prefer wireless access points spanning between multiple rooms

@afmod1 here are my suggestions -

No matter even if you have 1 gb internet link, there is a theory called spatial multiplexing

Even if your wireless routers are capable of beamfoaming MIMo at 1 gb your spatial receiving antennas on your devices (laptop, iPhone)like shouldpable of receiving those signals.

So summary is if you buy High end wireless routers , they will be of no use if your laptops and cellphones cannot receive the same MIMo bandwidth.

What I usually do is , I purchase cat 6e cables and then I run the cable to my Xbox where I run the multimedia apps. That is one way of utilizing maximum bandwidth..

your wireless Amazon firestick dongles  can be connected to ethernet adapters and run a cable to your modem switch ports or your wireless routers. You can enjoy 4k videos seamlessly that way assuming you have 4k display resolution  on your TV. I strongly recommend 4k TV's made by Sony !(this is different subject though)

If your laptop wireless adapter  is 2*2 MIMo then you probably expecting wireless bandwidth close to 750 mbps. I am certain your laptop is not !  those come with 2*2 MIMo are  very few that can be sold commerically.

Your iPhone is 1*1 MIMo ...so maximum 350 mbps ?

I usually suggest to buy access points that connect to modem. Access points deliver true MIMo signal output..

All these multi function (router+ wifi ) have limited function capabilities as they both have to act as routers as well as WiFi access points..

2.4ghz has lot of interference. Say example your negihbour uses same 2.4 GHz frequency and same channel (1,6 or 11) you can experience bandwidth and latency issues.

I had same problem. So I analysed what channels my neighbours are mostly using and selected channel which no one is using for optimal performance in 2.4 GHz radio frequency.

Your cordless phone, microwave and Bluetooth  and even hp printers all operate in 2.4 GHz . So make sure they are not interfering signal.

5.0 GHz offers very high number of channels to pick from and hence less cochannel interference. But not all of your wireless devices support 5.0ghz.

But 5.0ghz is great if you are having a wireless Lan party in your apartment. Not so great if you have a mansion house. You might need multiple access points ( not wifi router or repeaters). Best buy don't sell access points. Amazon has good selection of them.

To be very honest  a regular steady stream of 15 Mbps is good enough for your internet streaming and browisng...including hd contents.

If you have 4k tv and internet cable, please kindly use the ehtenet cable connection to the broadband modem.
