I too observed the same. India lo kooda andaru christmas trees intilo. may be westernization effect.

Exactly i am saying same i am getting messages from Indian friend and their facebook status ...paina evaro devuni bidda replying....babu friends from india majorily not mentioning usa.

People love to celebrate. Probably they have fun putting up a tree, decorating it and wishing everyone. Same way we celebrate new years on Jan 1st. If so called budh festivals also involve fun activities, people will celebrate them too.

Add getting/giving gifts factor to that. Kids love to get christmas gifts.
