అమెరికాలో ముగ్గురు నల్గొండ విద్యార్థులు మృతి

మృతులంతా ఒకే కుటుంబానికి చెందిన వారు..

హైదరాబాద్‌: అమెరికాలో జరిగిన అగ్ని ప్రమాదంలో తెలంగాణకు చెందిన ముగ్గురు విద్యార్థులు మృతిచెందారు. కొలిర్‌విలీలోని ఓ ఇంట్లో మంటలు చెలరేగి నలుగురు మృతిచెందారు. వీరిలో నల్గొండ జిల్లా నేరడుగొమ్ము మండలం గుర్రపుతండా గ్రామానికి చెందిన శ్రీనివాస్‌ నాయక్‌, సుజాత నాయక్‌ కుమార్తెలు సాత్విక నాయక్ (16), జ్వాయి నాయక్‌ (13), కుమారుడు సుహాస్ నాయక్ (14) దుర్మరణం పాలయ్యారు. వీరు చదువుకొనేందుకు అమెరికా వెళ్లినట్లు సమాచారం. స్థానిక కాలమానం ప్రకారం సోమవారం రాత్రి ఈ ఘటన చోటుచేసుకుంది. క్రిస్మస్‌ సందర్భంగా ఇంటికి అలంకరణ చేస్తుండగా ఈ ప్రమాదం జరిగింది. చిన్నవయసులోనే దేశం కాని దేశంలో ప్రాణాలు కోల్పోవడంతో స్వగ్రామంలో విషాదఛాయలు అలముకున్నాయి.

గుర్రపుతండాకు చెందిన శ్రీనివాస్‌ నాయక్‌ గతంలో అమెరికాలో పాస్టర్‌గా పనిచేసి నల్గొండకు వచ్చేశారు. ప్రస్తుతం హైదరాబాద్‌లో స్థిర నివాసం ఏర్పరుచుకున్నారు. ఆయన ముగ్గురు పిలల్లు మాత్రం అమెరికాలో ఉంటున్నారు. వీరి కుటుంబానికి అక్కడి కొలిర్‌విలీలోని బైబిల్‌ చర్చిలో భాగస్వామ్యం ఉంది. ముగ్గురూ మిసిసిపీలోని ఓ పాఠశాలలో విద్యనభ్యసిస్తున్నారు. స్కూలుకు శీతకాల సెలవులు ఇచ్చినా పిల్లలు తమ స్వదేశం భారత్‌కు వెళ్లకపోవడంతో చర్చి నడుపుతున్న క్రౌడ్రెట్‌ కుటుంబం వారిని తమ ఇంటికి ఆహ్వానించింది. క్రిస్మస్‌ పండుగ సందర్భంగా ఇంటిని అలంకరిస్తుండగా ప్రమాదం జరిగిందని అక్కడి చర్చి ఓ ప్రకటనలో తెలిపింది. ప్రమాదంలో చర్చి నడుపుతున్న మహిళ కారీ క్రౌడెట్‌ మృతిచెందగా..  ఆమె భర్త డేనియల్‌ కౌడ్రెట్‌, చిన్న కొడుకు కోల్‌ గాయాలతో బయటపడ్డారు.

ప్రమాద సంఘటన తెలుసుకున్న శ్రీనివాస్‌ నాయక్‌ కుటుంబ సభ్యులు కన్నీరుమున్నీరయ్యారు. హుటాహుటిన హైదరాబాద్‌ నుంచి అమెరికా పయనమయ్యారు. మృతదేహాలను స్వదేశం తీసుకొచ్చేందుకు ఏర్పాట్లు చేస్తున్నారు.

Sathwika Naik, Suhan Naik and Jaya Suchith who died in the fire accident.

Nalgonda: Three teenagers, all from the same family and hailing from Nalgonda district, were killed in a devastating house fire in Collierville, Tennessee, in the US.

The victims were identified as Sathwika Naik (16), Jyoti Naik (13) and Suhan Naik (14), all children of Srinivas Naik and Sujatha, and belonging to Gurrapu thanda of Neredugumma mandal in the district.
Srinivas, who is a pastor at the church, sent his three children to the US about a year-and-half ago for education on the suggestion of a known pastor in that country. Sathwika was an Intermediate first year student, while Suhan was in Class X and Jyothi Class IX in an educational institution in the US under a scholarship programme.

 

According to information reaching here, the trio died in the fire accident in a house at Collierville when they were asleep. They had gone to a pastor’s house in 600 block of Autumn Winds Drive in Collierville on December 24 to celebrate Christmas. The fire broke out around 11 p.m. on Sunday.

 

Srinivas resides with his family at Tarnaka in Hyderabad since the last 15 years and runs the Aletheia Christian Missionary besides a school at Gurrapu thanda. On receiving information about the incident from US authorities, the parents of the children left for the US.

A pall of gloom descended on Gurrapu thanda when the villagers came to know about the tragedy. Heart-rending scenes were witnessed at Srinivas Naik’s house with relatives wailing over the loss.
