lets assume this Thackeray movie has a scene where he feels bad for calling for violence against south Indians, muslims etc..

it'll be a stupid scene. because all he has to do is to just not do it. There's no one forcing him to do it.

Its just his pathology. The hatred against the others has a political angle, only to the extent that his anti-communism tirades in the 60s fizzled out, after his cronies started benefitting, and he had to invent new villains.
