Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati - who bailed out the Congress after it fell a whisker short of majority in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh - today set a condition to keep the party in line. Mayawati said she would "reconsider" her support if the cases filed in the two states against the "innocent" during April's all-India strike by Scheduled Castes are not withdrawn. The Congress, she said, should not work like the BJP, which did not keep its promises.

Announcing her condition in a press release, Mayawati said, "The warning to the Congress is necessary, as now merely making announcements is not enough. People are of the view that in making promises on papers, the Congress and the BJP are two sides of the same coin. Now, it depends on the Congress whether it is able to change this perception".

The Congress had supported the April protests - against the changes to the law meant protect Scheduled Castes and Tribes - that saw widespread violence in parts of north India.

SP and BSP are of the same opinion, non-congress and non-bjp. Even in a three way tie-up they can negotiate ennlock and push forward their demands than going individually with one or the either national parties.

ముంబయి: అందరికీ అన్నం పెట్టే రైతన్న కష్టాలను తీర్చడానికి ప్రధాన నరేంద్ర మోదీ కసరత్తు ప్రారంభించినట్టు తెలుస్తోంది. వ్యవసాయ సంక్షోభాన్నినివారించేందుకు మూడు అవకాశాలను ఆయన పరిశీస్తున్నారని అభిజ్ఞవర్గాల సమాచారం. అందులో ఒకటి రైతులకే నేరుగా నగదు ఇవ్వడం. పంటలకు అధిక గిట్టుబాటు ధర కల్పించడం, పంట బీమాలో నిబంధనలు మార్పు చేయడం వంటివి ఉన్నాయి.

రైతులకు నెలవారీ ఆదాయం లభించాలని ప్రభుత్వం కోరుకుంటోంది. ప్రభుత్వ మద్దతు ధర, అసలు ధర మధ్య వ్యత్యాసాన్ని నేరుగా రైతులకే నగదు రూపంలో ఇవ్వాలని ఆలోచిస్తోంది. పంట బీమా మార్పులపై దృష్టి సారించిందని ఈ వ్యవహారంపై అవగాహన ఉన్న ఓ అధికారి మీడియాకు తెలిపారు. కేవలం నగదు ఇవ్వడం, లేదా మూడు అంశాలను కలిసి ఓ పథకం రూపొందించే అవకాశం ఉంది.

ఐదు రాష్ట్రాల ఎన్నికల్లో భారతీయ జనతా పార్టీకి అనుకూల ఫలితాలు రాకపోవడంతో ప్రధాని మోదీ రైతు సమస్యలపై దృష్టి సారించారు. ఆయన రెండో సారి ప్రధాని కావాలంటే కొన్ని సమస్యలు తీర్చక తప్పని పరిస్థితి. నెలవారీ నగదు ఇవ్వడం ద్వారా 15 కోట్ల రైతు కుటుంబాలకు మేలు జరుగుతుంది. త్వరలో జరిగే సార్వత్రిక ఎన్నికల ఫలితాలపై ఇది కచ్చితంగా ప్రభావం చూపిస్తుంది.

ఈ ఏడాది జులైలో ప్రభుత్వం పత్తి, సోయా బీన్స్‌, వరికి అంచనా వేసిన ఉత్పత్తి వ్యయం కన్నా 50 శాతం అధికంగా మద్దతు ధర ప్రకటించింది. రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వాల నుంచి తగిన సహాయ సహకారాలు అందకపోవడంతో రైతులకు లాభం జరగలేదు. అందుకే తాము నిర్ణయించిన రాయతీ ధరలకు పంట అమ్మితే రైతుల చేతికే నగదు ఇవ్వాలని ప్రభుత్వం ప్రణాళికలు రచిస్తోంది. మరిన్ని పంటలను బీమా పరిధిలోకి తీసుకొచ్చి ప్రీమియం తగ్గించాలని చూస్తోంది. కౌలు రైతులకు ప్రయోజనాలు కల్పించేందుకు సిద్ధమైంది.
