House passes bills to fund several agencies, including the FDA, with Republican support

A dozen Republicans voted with Democrats to pass spending bills to fund temporarily shuttered agencies, including the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Food and Drug Administration and the Department of Agriculture. The bills could be blocked in the Senate, where Majority Leader Mitch McConnell holds sway over wavering members of his party.
