By 2030, 35% of the cars sold will be driverless. 

My opinion The reason people switch to driverless cars will be of two reasons

1. Saves lot on insurance

2. Morning commute they can concentrate on their coffee , bf and meetings.

 

And also mechanically driver less cars will have even rear and tear, with optimum drive.. car can last long.

As of driverless cars tested today, The chance of machine going wrong is way less probability than actual human errors.
