if a referendum is conducted now, independence may win, but only with a small margin.

India can, if it wants to, endear themselves to people of kashmir and change their minds. But theres a religious bias against kashmiris, and pent up anger at what happened in 1990s, while Indians don't care why it happened.

Indians are on an ego trip wrt to kashmir. they will never win the hearts of kashmiris with that attitude. 

with guns - I hope everyone who picks up a gun to subdue others dies a horrible death.
