Are you referring to AWS?

AWS is the by by product of their online retail infra setup, although AWS is making money for them it is not their bread and butter nor where their heart and soul lye. If situation demands they will spun away AWS like Sears spun away Discover Credit Card business.

They are losing money becuase they funding their growth by building new warehosuses and expaning to other countries same with Tesla. If either stop funding their growth they will make money but their stock will be a rock like some ultities company, if Tesla is content with model S  they would be making a 100-200 million a quarter but their stock would be trending at $30 like other car manufacturers, unfortunately that’s not how the publicly listed companies work and it is all about how well and how much can they grow?

this is no way possible...telsa is selling model S for lesser than making price...how would it make money??...by the way amazon is not loosing money bcz they are expanding warehouses...they are loosing bcoz they are selling at bare low margins

It thought we are discussing how Tesla supercharging network out weighs competition rather how a gas station owner makes money. There is a lot more going on here. BMW wants to create their own EV plug for their vehicles, while Porsche wants their own and there is no industry standard (by maintaining their version of charging plug will lock the customers to lock into their eco-system).  So there is no way all these automakers create a EV charging network overnight. Rest of the industry is capable to do it but they don't want.

you talked about RE and asked why would a gas station carry aa ev charging no uncle

It’s a chicken and egg problem, to sell for less or less margins you need to scale, amazon is building pretty much in every nook and corner over the last 2 decades. Also selling for less and. Acquisitions  is investing in their growth. Similarly if Tesla just made Model S with no EV infra not many would be interested in so they were actively investing in their charging network over the years.

It is like people arguing 10 years ago amazon can’t beat walmarts, sears and targets of this world. They slowly swept under the rug by establishing their warhouse network, now there are at a point where there killing brick and mortar one after the other. Tesla is doing something similar here, it is building it’s exclusive tech and charging network, a tesla works with  it’s own and other charging stations as well that is a difference maker here.

also the gas station will not be going anywhere is next 10-20 years

It was too late by the time companies like Sears realized about Amazon growth. Walmart might have taken a part in that ignorance, but they've taken enough measures to get themselves out from it. In fact, they had the best quarter last year. Tesla isn't Amazon. Even though Amazon didn't make any profit from their E-commerce business, it has other sources income which can post an overall profit each quarter. When market equations and trends changes, it doesn't take long to implement it. While most of the vehicles are Petrol and Diesel, they've introducded CNG. Now, most of the car makers are bringing their version of Electric cars. Change is coming one way or other. It's just a matter of time before someone realizes it.

Why would a gas station transfer to EV station. Reality is different. Without the landlord gets incentive they won’t  invest and convert to let you charge. Tesla has free charging to its fleet except Model 3. But their networks are so good that you cannot deny the facts.

Too late bro. Any outgoing vehicle from Tesla's won't come with Free charging. It's simple, Wheather you sell Gas, Deisel or Provide Electric charging stations you're motive is to make money. Once all the manufactures starting selling electric cars, they'll change the business.I'm not saying that they won't sell Gas anymore, instead of losing their gas and in-store sales they'll start introducing Electric chargers on Highway locations where there is ample space.

Tesla did not see the real picture yet. They had a very good referral program and got good sales so far. I am not sure if their service is efficient. If they have to service the vehicles, right now its time consuming
