Call Department of State and enquire. It’s their mistake to give I-94 for an Year.

It happened to My friends spouse they gave 10 year GC at POE instead of 2 years for immigration visa through marriage. And USCIS issued 10 year card too...

One may stay for the duration of status as shown on that issued I-94.

Depending on the purpose of the visit, a B2 applicant may be admitted for up to a year ( ie where accompanying a minor studying on F1 visa). A nonimmigrant is admitted for the duration granted by cbp unless it is granted for duration of status which is not the case here. The end date provided on the i94 controls the validity of the period of stay - that is if the time granted was not in error. You should contact an immigration attorney to review the specifics of your case...

they can stay without any issue

Might bean issue later, like when she comes for next trip or when she goes for stamping again.

With the current changes going on at Immigration nothing out of an odd should be taken for granted.
