Venezuela has a colonial history like the rest of latin america, and Chavez (along with other latin american revolutionaries like Castro, Che guevara) is part of the colonized people. they fought against the colonizers, in different ways.

the opposition are from the colonizer elites, who have settled down in latin america itself. So white people, basically.

Maduro, if he is deposed, violence against non-whites will increase. already they burned a black guy on the street.

what maduro did was created a supra legislative body in 2017, to change the constitution and make the national assembly a puppet body, which the president can ignore.

almost the entire constituents of this body is from his party, while the opposition dominated the national assembly. but this new body was constituted after people voting on it, individual members, not members handpicked by maduro.

all the things that Maduro is accused of, can be laid against every democratic nation that goes into elections. vote buying, striking off rolls, etc.

the real issue is deep economic crisis due to mismanagement, after oil exports dried up.

The amount of fake news written about venezuela from random online publications is astounding

googling results (which I rarely do) gives me an entire anti-Maduro set of publications

and yacy that I use regularly gives a different set of publications that seem more balanced.

no wonder lots of people think Venezuela is under dictatorship.
