Pelosi says House will block Trump's State of the Union until government is reopened

Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Wednesday that the House would not authorize a resolution allowing the president to deliver his annual State of the Union address before Congress next week unless the partial government shutdown were first brought to an end. President Trump had earlier in the day written the speaker to inform her of his intentions to address the body.
