Venezuela's president gives US diplomatic staff 72 hours to leave the country

After Donald Trump's backing of National Assembly president Juan Guaidó, who has declared himself the interim leader of Venezuela, the ruling President Nicolás Maduro has severed all diplomatic ties with the US. The Venezuelan opposition say Maduro's leadership isn't legitimate, and plan to hold fresh elections. Several other countries, including Canada and Brazil, have joined the US in supporting Guaidó.
