Wasim Jaffer 1st batsman to score 1000 runs in a Ranji Trophy season twice

Ranji Trophy: Wasim Jaffer went past 1000 runs this season for Vidarbha a decade after scoring 1260 runs for Mumbai. He is the first batsman in Ranji Trophy history to score over 1000 runs in a season twice.

Wasim Jaffer became the first batmsan in history to score 1000 runs in a season twice in Ranji Trophy. The 40-year-old Jaffer had scored 1260 runs from 16 innings at an average of 84 for Mumbai in 2008-09. This year, playing for Vidarbha, Jaffer needed 31 before the semi-final against Kerala.
