Anta Assamey Posted January 30, 2019 Report Posted January 30, 2019 Soon after KIA Motors' first made-in-Andhra car made its way out for a trial run with a record of one and a half year, a businessman said that Andhra Pradesh has been their choice, after having bad experiences and challenges in other states. Andhra Pradesh has been on top of its game in Ease of Doing Business and has been lauded for its efforts as a state in projecting itself as an emerging investment destination. Tweeting his experience, Brij Bhasin who is a partner of Rebright, a Japanese Venture Capital Fund, said: "Our LP, a large Japanese manufacturer is setting up a 50 acre, 500 employee facility in Sri City, AP. Me: Why not KA( Karnataka)? State officials were rude & unhelpful. TN? Officials asked for a lot of bribes... Thank heavens at least there is new AP!." Praising Andhra Pradesh Government's approach towards investors and investments, he said: "Best thing they like about #NewAP in order of pref- State initiated 10K subsidy per employee to train them at HQ facilities in Japan, Handling local relations with farmers to smooth over transition, Clarity on tax, inputs like electricity, water." Not stopping at that, Brij tweeted his company's biggest worries in investing in the state, ahead of the upcoming elections "Biggest worries - Political uncertainty and policy continuity post-General election, Tax regime clarity and local customer stability, Friendly environment and quality of life for HQ staff living in India." Following his tweets, several social media followers welcomed the Japanese company to the state and were in praise of Brij for stating facts. Interestingly, one of the social media followers had asked if "Telangana was considered" to which Brij replied saying it was on the list of their discussed locations. Quote
