klipsch atmos 4 speakers  1 center channel  (5.1) + sub

2 atmos floorstands and 2 rear speakers should be good if you have a closed room.

buy a good atmos supported receiver and down the line keep adding speakers .

I would like to suggest few things

1) Sound is a subjective experience - just because I like a particular speaker, others may not like it. I recommend to go to audition of some speakers at Magnolia to get an idea.

2) Bose speakers are overpriced ( I still own GS II Cinemate) but why a lot of them like is they amplify highs > mid (frequency) which feels like the sound has a lot of detail.  Yes Bose is good if you don’t have a lot of space - simple setup and small speakers.

3) Ideally speakers should be at the level of ear position - means around 3 feet from ground depending on your sitting position. But it’s not always possible. But ceiling speakers are not recommended for regular daily use. Ceiling speakers as part of atoms set up is good. No matter how much you spend on ceiling speakers they cannot replace front speakers.

4) For your budget - If you want speakers without AV Receiver check for Sound Bars( Atmos) with Subwoofer. Check Sony Top Model  - I heard them personally at a demo ( CES2017). They sound decent for the size. I also heard Bose Sound Bar with Wireless woofer- Good but expensive.

5) If space is not a problem and can accommodate budget in future then start with for 2.1 / 2.0 channel setup with AV Receiver ( My Set-up for living room 2.1 channel - B&W CM10 S2 Floor standing Right and Left / SVS Subwoofer / Sony ES3100 AV Receiver/ Emotiva 3Channel AMP)

Recommend - Yamaha Aventage Series AV Receiver(870 or 880) - Get 2017/18 model- it will available for half price (99% same as current model). Speakers - Emotiva has sale going  on floor standing speakers T1. You can get two speakers and AV receiver in your budget.  My friend has Emotiva speakers 5.1 channel setup - they are best for the price. I don’t say they are best speakers but can’t beat the value,  I own a Emotiva Stealth 8 Studio Monitors and they are the best speakers I heard/ owned for a price range of less than 2k

There are many brands you can try and there are fanboys for every brand-  Klipsch/ Polk / Martin Logan / B & W/ KEF/ Definitive Technology.

I posted too much of info - with a hope of more active discussion and to keep this thread as any reference to home theatre questions in future.

Will be happy to answer any questions.

same to same here....4 yrs avthundi.

Appatlo naa budget ki and town house setup ki and knowledge ki Klipsch medium size speakers konna.....ippudu anipisthundi, i should have bought RF series ani....frnd bought last yr....just 2 tower speakers and 1 center channel for 2K...kani amazing sound.....he is going to buy surround and sub-woofer later this yr when his media room setup is done....i;m sure it will blow our mind.

anyway Klipsch home theater setup is best......receiver aithe either Onkyo, Denon, Yamaha...Pioneer and Sony kuda not bad annaru.

Make sure to buy 4K Receivers and go for 7.1 channel. Ippudu 5.1 more than enough anukuntam....but receivers last 10 - 15yrs+...so future lo if you want to upgrade your media room to next level, then malli appudu feel avthav.
