I would like to suggest few things

1) Sound is a subjective experience - just because I like a particular speaker, others may not like it. I recommend to go to audition of some speakers at Magnolia to get an idea.

2) Bose speakers are overpriced ( I still own GS II Cinemate) but why a lot of them like is they amplify highs > mid (frequency) which feels like the sound has a lot of detail.  Yes Bose is good if you don’t have a lot of space - simple setup and small speakers.

3) Ideally speakers should be at the level of ear position - means around 3 feet from ground depending on your sitting position. But it’s not always possible. But ceiling speakers are not recommended for regular daily use. Ceiling speakers as part of atoms set up is good. No matter how much you spend on ceiling speakers they cannot replace front speakers.

4) For your budget - If you want speakers without AV Receiver check for Sound Bars( Atmos) with Subwoofer. Check Sony Top Model  - I heard them personally at a demo ( CES2017). They sound decent for the size. I also heard Bose Sound Bar with Wireless woofer- Good but expensive.

5) If space is not a problem and can accommodate budget in future then start with for 2.1 / 2.0 channel setup with AV Receiver ( My Set-up for living room 2.1 channel - B&W CM10 S2 Floor standing Right and Left / SVS Subwoofer / Sony ES3100 AV Receiver/ Emotiva 3Channel AMP)

Recommend - Yamaha Aventage Series AV Receiver(870 or 880) - Get 2017/18 model- it will available for half price (99% same as current model). Speakers - Emotiva has sale going  on floor standing speakers T1. You can get two speakers and AV receiver in your budget.  My friend has Emotiva speakers 5.1 channel setup - they are best for the price. I don’t say they are best speakers but can’t beat the value,  I own a Emotiva Stealth 8 Studio Monitors and they are the best speakers I heard/ owned for a price range of less than 2k

There are many brands you can try and there are fanboys for every brand-  Klipsch/ Polk / Martin Logan / B & W/ KEF/ Definitive Technology.

I posted too much of info - with a hope of more active discussion and to keep this thread as any reference to home theatre questions in future.

Will be happy to answer any questions.

I saw that thread and felt like it got distracted with content and also I never considered myself audiophile. I really don’t have any knowledge about the speaker brand you posted. Marantz is one of my preferred brands.

Anyway regarding your question-

What’s the Budget/ Primary location of set-up/ any space restriction

Will post my response over there.

I have Yamaha RX-V677 7.2 Receiver.

And Fluance XLHTB Series. I bought a woofer from the same series as well.

We have been using this setup for almost 3 years and absolutely happy. Value for money wise this is a phenomenal setup.

My speaker series is slightly old. Fluance has released many new models after that.

The quality of their speakers is very good. Same quality Polk, B&W, Bose lo kavali ante almost 4 times more spend cheyyali.

Speakers ki kaasta real estate undali. Anni compact unte appropriate notes raavu. Take any traditional speaker system, they are not small. Floor standing, Book Shelf, Center Channel everything is big sized only. Many people compare these to small sized Bose but that is not a true comparison.

If you are tight on budget spend a bit more on the receiver. That is something that lives with you and you dont want to buy a new receiver when you have to expand your speaker system. That is a reason I went with 7.2 even though we have a 5.1 now. Repu pedda living room unna house lo ki velte I want to add 2 Bi Polars without having to worry about receiver.
