When Arjun Reddy was released a couple of years ago and it became a blockbuster, the film had also attained a cult following even among Tamil movie buffs. Naturally, when Arjun Reddy's Tamil remake 'Varmaa' was announced under national award winning director Bala's direction, with Chiyaan Vikram's son Dhruv Vikram reprising Vijay Deverakonda's role, there has been a lot of curiosity.

However, ever since the film's first look stills were released, nothing has been going right for Varmaa. Even the teaser and the theatrical trailer were trolled heavily by Arjun Reddy's cult fans. The film was supposed to be released on February 14th.

Now, in a shocking move, Varmaa's producers at E4 Entertainments announced this afternoon that they are entirely scrapping the film and will be free shooting the film with a new director. The reason cited was that the producers did not like the film made by Bala.

Varmaa's producers said that they had an agreement with Bala's production house on the 'first copy' basis, but they didn't like what Bala had made. So, a new director will be roped in soon and the entire film will be reshot with Dhruv Vikram despite the heavy loss they had incurred.
