Kool_SRG Posted February 10, 2019 Report Posted February 10, 2019 Soujanya Trivikram showed a fine control over her movements in her recital Soujanya Trivikram, wife of noted Telugu film director Trivikram Srinivas, presented an impressive classical Bharatanatyam dance performance at Kalabharati Visakhapatnam. A disciple of Pasumarthi Ramalinga Sastry, she seemed passionate in her portrayal of chosen characters. With a fair grip over footwork, she looked a genial cadence in movement even in execution of intricate choreographic patterns. Replete with refined postures, complex movement, jumps and pirouettes, she performed these aspects with fluid ease outlining each curve and bend with precision, displaying her admirable control over the body. Her exploration of visual shades of aesthetics in the kinetic phraseology of classical dance is a pointer to her fair grasp of choreographic nuances. The performance opened with Pari pari nee padame of Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna, set in raga Hamsadwani, the musically rich invocatory paying obeisance to Lord Ganesh ushered the session into a good start. Nagumomu galavani of Thyagaraja in raga Madhyamavathi that followed, stood well delineated and the attributes of Lord Rama as envisioned by the saint composer got translated into visual frames of classical dance. Her use of postures as an expressive tool to suggest the emotion of characters is remarkable and it came to fore in its full measure in her presentation of Madhurashtakam of Vallabhacharya. She captured the beauty and features of Lord Krishna as described in the verse in a detailed manner maintaining the mood of the verse in its poetic progression. She wrapped up the session with a tillana, followed by a piece of Swathi Tirunal in raga Dhanasri. Pasumarthi Ramalinga Sastry with nattuvangam, Pasumarthi Padma R Sastry and DSV Sastry with vocals as well as Rajagopalachari (mridangam), Neeladri (violin), Chandrakanth (ghatam) and VBS Murali (flute) lent good orchestral support. Sangamam Foundation in association with Kala Vedika hosted the event. Quote
