How does life insurance work? If we pay say X amount monthly for Life Insurance and say Y is covered. So, if husband/primary dies would wife get Y or % of Y ? Would wife get it immediately or she needs to stay in US? Does husband/wife visas matter? how to claim and etc..

DB experts- Pls throw some light if you know, it will help others as many might not even have a clue about it.

only helping ...... i think people have stopped trusting others because of scams ........... and then depend on Gofund me in need ........... then all these people who distrust now donate and help ........... help before an event occurs ...........

The situation differs from person to person and hence needs to be discussed and suggested. That is the help i will do ........ giving the right suggestions, pros and cons ...... rest is left to the individual ......

else it is very to go to market and buy insurance but there are numerous products .........in the market

Yes buddy I agree. But how does it work, ? Directly beneficiary and go n claim ? how and where to claim ? what is the process...I think its good to have atleast basic knowledge and its good to educate your partner ..

"Y"(assume husband taking life policy on his name) needs to mention the beneficiary ( u can mention give more names as well like ur wife -60% & ur son -40% ). The beneficiary must be 18+ if i am not wrong, but plz check on that. 

If "Y" dies, the wife gets the amount as long as she is designated to be beneficiary. She doesn't need to stay in US. Process of getting money depending on case by case ,generally they should get with in couple of months but u can say 6 months in the worst case. And claimings are generally easy here in US, you just need to educate ur wife once u had the policy.

Visas doesn't matter as far as I know.. and the beneficiary amount is tax free.
