I read an interesting article from nature genetics about founder events due to the caste system in India. This video reminded me of that. They studied the effects of inbreeding in people from same castes and how it led to autoimmunity.

Can't find the original article. I think the original article is published in Nature Genetics, it's collaboration between Harvard Medical School and CCMB Hyderabad. I know that the first author recently got a tenure track position at Berkeley.
