rocky420 Posted February 21, 2019 Author Report Posted February 21, 2019 Lol. Companies know there are not many jobs in Civil. So they pay less and don't care about employee job satisfaction. When there is lot of demand for skills, companies create good work atmosphere and give good benefits. That's why companies in Bay area provide benefits like free lunches and work from home. Quote
rocky420 Posted February 21, 2019 Author Report Posted February 21, 2019 Many IT people get at least $10,000 Christmas bonus. My Civil engineer friend got $1000 bonus. He works in Dallas area. He said all IT people drive BMW and he drives 2008 Toyota Corolla, lol Quote

Ala ani andaru anukunte we won't have anyone to build buildings. Besides, if money is really all you care about, get a PE sign your own drawing, start a firm, get some connections, do an MBA. Whatever. You can't have a million dollar dream with a minimum wage work ethic. Quote

Please share ur opinion. I had another thread asking for best IT field to shift to instead of Civil Engg. But wanted to start a new thread on pros/cons IT PROS: Work from home on Fridays (Never for other fields) Work from home mostly (Never for other fields) Easy to get a job if laidoff (Other fields really difficult) Opportunities in India or other countries (Other Eng fields have limited opportunities outside US) Higher pay CONS Stressfull depending on the client and expectations Quote

DrBeta Posted February 21, 2019 Report Posted February 21, 2019 Happiness is a choice you make, you don't get it from job or money. You can be in pain but choose to be happy or you can be rich and choose misery. Quote
