Thanks brothers.

All my US life was in cold -- Pittsburgh and Detroit . So cold has become part of life.

Jana jeevana sravanthali lo vundaamani plan.

Planning to get out from Detroit as  Big three (GM, FORD and FCA) and Tier 1's ( except Bosch) are no  longer reliable companies.

Alstom is french company , Got many Indian railway projects in hand,  They are now stable financially when they got rid of Power Business to GE.

Melbourne maybe a quite place to settle but not a lot of entertainment. You have NAsA nearby though. Jacksonville is I think  1 hour drive which is not bad and 156k is a good salary for Melbourne. If you can bond with locals Melbourne is awesome. Not sure about schools though

Request your suggestion to make a decision.

I am on H1B (10th year) with approved I-140 (Aug-2013). Currently I live in Detroit suburb( I.e.Troy).

I have two jobs offers – One from Melbourne, Florida and Second job from manufacturing company based in Chicago suburb (I.e. Westmont). I need to make a decision to accept job offer. I am also planning to settle down in one place either at Florida or Chicago area.

My future boss told me Naperville is good suburb in Chicago land. My family also inclining towards Naperville due to lot of desi crowd and big city Chicago.

My spouse work for Data Analytics firm (WFH, on H1B), I have two school age kids (2nd and 4th grade). Planning to buy home single-family house in Naperville area. I have budget around 500 to 550K.

Request your help in answering some of my questions below.

1) Is it worth relocating to Naperville compare to other suburbs in Chicago suburbs like Downers grove, Westmont, Deerfield or Buffalo grove.
2) How expensive Naperville compare to other Chicago land suburbs or Detroit Suburb (I.e. I live in Troy)?
3) How stable Naperville housing market is? Is it bubble or exaggerated like Dallas, TX etc..?.
4) Is 500 to 550K budget is good for New Single-family home with 4 Bed + 3 car garages in Naperville.
5) How good are Naperville schools, heard they are good but crowded?.

Your response will be highly appreciated. Many thank in advance.

FLORIDA: Not many jobs and the rates are low. Schools are really bad. Crime is even worse. Summers are a complete JOKE - you can't even take your kids to a playground or go out for a walk. No wonder there are so many water parks in FL. All these movies have shown how cool and beautiful Disney is but NO movie has dared to show how bad Disney it is in Summer. You stand in a line for 45 minutes with a handheld fan and wiping sweat off your face for a 1 minute ride. Humidity is at its peaks.

CHICAGOLAND: Has more jobs and can be compared to Northern VA/Metro DC area. Naperville (203 School District) has some of the BEST schools in the country and people flock to this place for a reason. If you want cheaper housing, you could live in the surrounding areas like Aurora (202) and other cities but the schools may not be great (based on the location) if you have kids. There are only 2 seasons in Chicagoland - one is Winter and the other one is - Construction! Snow and winds are very harsh in winter (harsher than MI) but if you like cold weather and cannot stand hot weather, this is the place.

One is like a FURNACE and the other one is like a FREEZER :)

You live longer - and stronger - in a cold place!

I lived and worked in both states for more than 5 years each (currently work in Naperville) but did not like FL weather, job market, schools, crime rate, addictions (it’s the world headquarters for addicts). There is no safe place in FL due to high crime rate. Also, pythons, snakes, lakes,, crocodiles, sink holes, hurricanes... Heat is dehydrating, debilitating, exhausting and disgusting. FL is hotter than India (not sure why people go on vacations to South America which is even hotter and gross). I lived in San Antonio too which is the hottest place and did not like it either.

If I have a choice, I would prefer a cold weather. Sure, you may not be able to things and stuff while it snows or is windy but there is no perfect place for jobs, schools, crime, weather, housing, cost of living, etc. There are always trade offs and compromises.

Local property  taxes are high in Naperville ?.

Is it better to be towards Naperville-Aurora or Naperville - Plainfield.
