Kool_SRG Posted February 28, 2019 Report Posted February 28, 2019 Yeddyurappa said that Wednesday's action of destroying terror hideouts by entering inside Pakistan has resulted in a pro-Modi wave in the country. Bengaluru: Karnataka BJP chief BS Yeddyurappa on Wednesday said India’s ‘preemptive’ strikes on terror camps in Pakistan have created a wave in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will help the party win over 22 of 28 seats in the state in the coming Lok Sabha polls. "Yesterday we entered Pakistan territory and destroyed three camps of terrorists. This has brought a pro-Modi wave all through the country. The effect of this will be seen in the Lok Sabha elections," Yeddyurappa said. Speaking to reporters in Chitradurga, he said, "It has enthused youths; all this will help us in winning more than 22 Lok Sabha seats (in Karnataka)." "Modi has shown courage in teaching Pakistan a lesson and in avenging the deaths of 40 martyrs. He had said he will avenge every drop of blood and he is showing that he is doing as he promised. All have welcomed it, opposition parties too are welcoming this," Yeddyurappa added. India conducted a major ‘preemptive’ strike on a Jaish-e-Mohammed training camp early Tuesday, killing a "very large number" of terrorists, trainers and senior commanders. India's action comes close on the heels of the Pulwama incident in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed in one of the deadliest terror strikes in decades in Jammu & Kashmir. Tensions between the two nations, however, were heightened further after Pakistan violated Indian airspace and captured an IAF pilot. At present, the BJP holds 16 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka, while the Congress has 10 and the JD(S) two. The ruling alliance Congress and JD(S), who have decided to contest the Lok Sabha polls together have begun discussions about seat sharing. Sharing of seats is expected to be a litmus test for both parties with JD(S) demanding for 10-12 seats, while Congress has maintained that seat sharing will be based on merit. Quote
Kool_SRG Posted February 28, 2019 Author Report Posted February 28, 2019 Air strike will help BJP win more than 22 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka: B S Yeddyurappa Speaking to media persons during his visit to the city, he said the recent decision taken by the PM to conduct an air strike on terrorist camps has invoked the spirit of nationalism among youth. CHITRADURGA: Karnataka BJP chief B S Yeddyurappa on Wednesday said the voters of the state, in large numbers, are waiting for their turn to elect BJP nominees and re-elect Narendra Modi as the prime minister. Speaking to media persons during his visit to the city, he said the recent decision taken by the PM to conduct an air strike on terrorist camps has invoked the spirit of nationalism among youth and the people of the country, which will help BJP in getting the maximum number of seats in Karnataka. He also claimed this would strengthen PM Modi. "The Indian Armed Forces proved their mettle by destroying the terrorists' hideouts. The impact of this strike will help BJP win more than 22 seats in state," he said. Reacting to Horticulture Minister M C Managoli's statement that no strikes should have been conducted on CRPF personnel or terrorists, Yeddyurappa said a minister should not make such irresponsible statements. Yeddyurappa also said Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister again with a full majority after the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Quote
