Does any of your desi friends got roped into drug dealing/ went to jail??

I found weeks ago , that one of my classmate (US lo, uni in California) North Indian got shot himself in a hotel room. Later from other friends I found that during the university days itself he slowly started to get into Mexican durg sellers and slowly went deep into it ,since past few years. No one knows why he shot himself . Is it hard that you can’t come back after you join those gangs?? Any instances where anyone of your friends, classmates,Telugu guys fell into that trap or caught by police because of drugs??  I had a strong feeling that desis wont involve into those kind of matters or get into those kind of worst situations. This incident totally proved me wrong. Any similar stories like this??
