In private schools, professors give "gentleman" C grades (they even instruct their TA's to do that), if you don't work hard. They never fail. That's why it is tougher to graduate from a state school like UC Berkeley than from Stanford.

Lol, even it's easier to graduate. If we opt courses which give more weightage to assignments and projects.

I don't know if I quite agree, Berkeley and Stanford have similar dropout rates. Besides the intake is way less for Stanford when compared to Berkeley. It's true that they make sure no one fails, but that's more so for graduate classes. It's not necessarily like that for undergraduates.
