New Zealand will ban all types of semi-automatic guns used in Christchurch terror attack

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced a ban on military-style semi-automatics and assault rifles following the shootings at two mosques in Christchurch on March 15. The new gun laws are expected to be in place by next month. A buyback program will be introduced soon. People who own the guns illegally were told they could return them without fear of facing charges: "We just want the guns," Ardern said.
