After receiving a thumping defeat in the Telangana Assembly elections in Dec 2018, TDP has now decided to stay away from contesting in LS polls in Telangana. Monday will be the last day for filing nominations and the party has taken the shocking decision of not involving in the upcoming lok sabha elections.

Earlier, the reasons were not crystal clear but now, it is said that the senior TDP leaders are reluctant to contest from the Telangana, having the dearth of contestants and on the other hand, few trusted party members have left the party leaving without much hope.

The impact of the last assembly election results is also making Telangana TDP members stay away this time. They are already predicting the loss. However, the party will be lending a supporting hand to the Congress candidates for the ensuing elections. In return, Sr Congress leader Kuntiya also spoke on returning the favour to TDP members on phone.

Yesterday, TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy met TTDP party members. Telangana TDP president, L.Ramana, submitted a report on the state's latest and happening situations to Chandrababu Naidu. Today, another meeting with be held on discussions over supporting Congress candidates for the LS polls.

Not contesting is a death knell, their cadre has already vanished and is not going to come back when they need it, the sole reason of not contesting is that their cadre has already moved on and going forward whatever 1 or 2% of the remaining votebase will have make the difficult decision
