CricPokChic
Three Indian-origin high-tech consultants in the US have been arrested and charged with H1B visa fraud in Calfornia Federal court. The accused are Kishore Dattapuram, Kumar Aswapathi, and Santosh Giri. They have been charged for submitting fraudulent visa applications for non-existing jobs. Usually, this H1B visa allows international workers to gain short-term and temporary permission to live in the US. In order to secure the visa, an individual is ought to submit an I-29 petition to the US Citizenship and Immigration Services. The three accused have used Nanosemantics, a Santa-Clara-based consulting firm, whose motive is to place foreign employees at IT companies in California. But Kishore, Santosh, and Kumar have collaborated to submit fraud visa applications to gain competitive advantages. In reality, these jobs did not exist at all but they stated in the petition that specific jobs are in waiting mode. They also sought the cooperation of third parties to fabricate their fraud. All the three were arrested in their residence and entered pleas of not guilty. After released on bonds, they are next scheduled to appear on May 13 before Judge. If found guilty, the defendants will face 10 years of jail period and a fine of USD 250,000.
