Users are a huge expense to maintain (with heavy binary content => photos) for investors who look for revenue and bottom line - if they don’t have proportionate income to justify expenses, that’s not good. Quora is another hyped up site that got invested with a billion dollar valuation even before they started monetizing (due to speculation by investors) and their ROI is not great either.
