IT Grids: Over 2 crore Aadhaar records of Punjab surface in data theft case

Hyderabad: The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing the data theft case, found over two crore records of Aadhaar data belonging to Punjab.

This is in addition to the 7.82 crore records of Aadhaar data of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, which was detected in hard disks seized from IT Grids (India) Private Limited. The SIT officials, along with forensic experts, are examining the data retrieved from the hard disks.

 

While carrying out scientific analysis, officials were surprised to find some records related to Punjab. On further examination, they found as many as two crore records from the State, and since then the officials were confused about the motive behind storing information related to Punjab in such large proportions.

“When we were carefully analysing the data, much to our surprise we found the data related to Punjab,” an official said, adding that the reasons behind getting information of another State could be ascertained only after the arrest of IT Grids CEO Dakavaram Ashok. “We are not sure if there is any larger conspiracy behind getting the Aadhaar data of Punjab in addition to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh,” the official said.

Unique Identification Authority of India officials (UIDAI) said IT Grids, using its influence, could have accessed the data from the TDP government in Andhra Pradesh to use it for the party’s Seva Mitra app. But, the question arises as to how the company managed to get crucial data of Punjab.

“We are leaving no stone unturned in probing the case from all angles and efforts are on to trace Ashok,” the official said. He exuded confidence that more information could be extracted once the forensic experts retrieve data from all the seized hard disks.

Ettetla ? As it involves multiple states, CBI ki i cheyali ? Idekkada Logic samara...

Iyaltivaraku desham la demand cheyandi CBI ki okka case kuda iyaledu...it not a de facto investigating agency...

Multiple states involve ayi vunte CBI ki ivali anedi oka baseless assumption. CBI will take up the case only when they are ordered to take up the case, not because multiple cases are involved...

in simple words, Okadu poi CBI Office la ok murder chesthe, CBI Office will not take up the case unless the authority orders CBI to investigate and the authority should be the rank above DG or courts.
