Sharing those silly videos by others is what is wrong.

Actions have consequences. Some people with a camera phone and connected to the Internet freak out with all the power in their pocket and think they could make great content regardless of how illiterate they are. No wonder Tik-Tok is banned in India and those consequences will be suffered by many people who can make great content. Sharing such silly videos (Tik-Tok, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, etc) will only get them more views (and probably make them some $$) that will encourage them to make more silly videos like this.

The only way to make them stop producing such content is to get them NO views by not sharing them. More sharing across forums and social media (even to indicate how silly they are) results in more views for them. Supposing this forum has a 1000 members, if even 20% of those members watch these videos, that's 200 views! And some people watch them multiple times because the content is - soooooo SILLY. That's just one tiny forum - and keep counting social media, etc. That's how so many silly videos go VIRAL. It is easier to make silly content and become successful than make great content and get recognized.

It's not a rocket science to understand how marketing platforms work to make more ad $$$. More views/traffic from various IP addresses from around the world will establish more credibility for the content (as opposed to views from just a few locations) and make them promote and suggest more of those videos. These platforms don't look at what people are commenting or criticizing against the video (in text form) or even the dislikes - only views and audience-retention count.

Do share and encourage cool content, by all means - such as my music videos (shameless plugin 😕).
