Trump defends his 2017 response to Charlottesville rally, praises Robert E. Lee

Speaking to the media on Friday, President Trump was asked to clarify his remarks from 2017 suggesting that there were "very fine people on both sides" at the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, which ended in the death of Heather Heyer. “I was talking about people that went because they felt very strongly about the monument to Robert E. Lee, a great general.”
