Money you will get that much on h1 too. Visa uncertainty is the biggest worry for them. I see a lot of kids on day1 cpt and I can only pity the next gen. Better to work hard and have a stable life rather than chase money on h1.

You shouldn't get work that's suitable for your Visa. You should get a Visa that's suitable for your work. So, if you're working in industry, getting O1 is better. If you're in academia you can get H1B.

Not for me brah.. I have a pretty stable status. My job is grand too. Even if I marry, my spouse wouldn’t have a problem- my status is that stable here. I have a decent pull anywhere in the world wrt my career as well so not concerned about myself. 

It is just that so many kids want to come to the US without knowing what they are getting into. No h1 even after 6 years for some kids so this advice is for them.

Like I said, I wouldn't pick a career/job depending on my immigration status. One should pick an immigration status that is suitable for their career. So, DON'T do a PhD because it will help you immigrate to the country; that's the worst possible advice you could give someone.

Do a PhD because you really really want to do a PhD.
