Why did Telangana and Andhra Pradesh split?

My understanding is that most states in India tend to correspond to specific cultures/languages (e.g. Gujarat is for Gujaratis, Nagaland is for Nagas, Tamil Nadu is for Tamils, etc...) http://tradevenue.se/

But Telangana and AP both speak Telugu. Is there some cultural difference between them that I am unaware of?

Govt realized that the language being spoken in TG and AP are different and corrected the mistake it did in 1956.

AP migrants made fun of Telangana culture, Telangana districts were ignored to the core, No encouragement to Telangana actors, politicians and educated youth. All the key positions are occupied by AP people. Lot of discrimination and finally AP was given its piece of cake by destiny.
