Let’s say your opt is expiring on April 25th, if you file your H1B, with fed ex receipt, you can get cap gap till June 1, if your H1B is picked in lottery, you can extend your cap gap through sep 30. Your opt work authorization is valid till sep 30 or your H1B rejection, which ever is earlier
