Indian Space Research Organization (Isro), on 22nd May, will launch its latest radar imaging satellite from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. The satellite will act as another eye in the sky, to get the images from earth.

The new satellite is much like the older one in looks from outside, but the technical parts like configuration are different and have enhanced surveillance and imaging capabilities. This new satellite is named as Risat-2BR1, and the launch is due on May 22nd.

The radar of Risat is X-band synthetic aperture which can possess the capability of imaging not only during the day and night but also all-weather monitoring. The radar can zoom up to a resolution of 1 meter and also can penetrate clouds.

The satellite Risat can be able to forecast the weathers, can take images of the objects, like buildings on the earth at least 2-3 times in a day, this will enhance protection of  Indian resources and the Army. As the satellite is eye from the sky it can closely watch at Pakistan’s terror launch pads and China's naval vessels in Indian Oceans,
