I think its not right ... You should have mentioned it in the ER when they asked you for Insurance... You should have given Employer B insurance.... Is it ILLEGAL not sure... CITI#H@

When I went to ER last week I didn’t have insurance so I was forced to use employer A insurance.

If you paid the premium for the month you went to ER, yes it is legal.

If you say it is active, then you must have paid the premium for that old employer insurance

Worst case even if you used old employer insurance  dont worry. When the ER submit claim to insurance company they will reject the claim and you owe whatever amount they billed the insurance. If you canot afford to pay that amount you can negotiate with the hospital to reduce the bill whichh in most cases they will lower the bill.

take it easy don’t worry

illegal legal loveda em undadhu in Insurance

Insurance can be active after you leave an Employer , some employers offer insurance for the entire month after an employee leaves. Ex: If you leave on Jan 2nd , you will be covered until Jan end. You will lose coverage from Feb. They may also offer COBRA coverage , you have to specifically opt for it and they will charge you full payment with out any employee discount. I believe COBRA can be continued until the next enrollment period or until your next insurance starts. but , it may be expensive.

Check with your Insurance company on the coverage termination dates , as long as its active you will be eligible for benefits

PS : I'm no authority , do your own research and call Insurance company/your Employer for clarifications
