Aravolla pronunciation.. mahesh - magesh

venkat  = vengad

kartikeyan = kartigayan

Anyway, అరవం = అ + రవం

In Sanskrit, ravam = sound. So అరవం = without sound = without aspirates. Aspirates are: ఖ ఘ ఛ ఝ, etc.

That's 'why' these folks are called aravollu, say CP Brown, citing Caldwell.

Even in Telugu, we soften unvoiced stops (క చ ట త ప) across the word boundaries into voiced ones (గ జ డ ద బ)--and this phenomenon is called సరళాదేశ సంధి.  Tamil folks do this across syllabic boundaries.

There will be reason for this... manaki artham kaavu experts may be linguists ki artham avthayi. sadly we don't try to find that reason.

Lot of languages substitute some letters like L and R in Japan. P and B with arabic. Bihar with R and D

When these Tamil Carnatic singers sing "ఎందరో మ హా నుభావులు", they end up uttering "ఎందరో మ గా నుభవులు".

Even in Sanskrit, we see a similar phenomenon. For instance, look at folk etymology of స్నేహిత: we (at least I am) told that this word is related to "హితం కోరువాడు". Actually, స్నేహ and  స్నిగ్ధ come from the root స్ని:   స్ని: + త = స్నిగ్ధ
